ALBANY,N.Y. (NEWS10)--- During a Senate hearing in Albany, both Democratic and Republican lawmakers criticized the legal cannabis rollout in New York State. One of their top concerns— illegal cannabis shops."Law enforcement has raised concerns over the enforcement of the illegal market place, which seems to be growing, not taken out of the picture," said Senator Joe Griffo. "So do you believe and see the sense of urgency here? GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Guilderland Police Department announced they are investigating a rollover crash that occurred on October 30. On Monday afternoon, upon arriving at the scene, police determined that the driver of a Volkswagon Passat had been traveling eastbound when they lost control of the car after passing another vehicle. The Passat preceded to flip over, resulting in the ejection of the driver, identified as Noah Crawford, 27. Emergency medical personnel transported Crawford to Albany Medical Center to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. DETROIT (AP) — The United Auto Workers union said Monday that it reached a tentative contract with General Motors, the last of the Detroit Three automakers to agree to a deal.Under the agreement reached early Monday at the union’s headquarters in Detroit, workers at all three companies will return to the job pending votes on whether to ratify the contracts, which will take place over the next two weeks.The GM deal follows tentative agreements reached with Ford on Wednesday and Jeep-maker Stellantis on Saturday. All three deals have to be voted on by the 146,000 union members who work at the Detroit companies.The union's targeted strikes against the companies began on Sept. 15.The main provisions of the deals are largely the same at all three automakers, but there are small differences. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. - For the first time in state history, Missouri will have a female majority serving on its highest court.Governor Mike Parson on Monday appointed Judge Ginger Gooch, 47, an appeals court judge from Springfield, to the Missouri Supreme Court."She clerked for the first woman on the Missouri Supreme Court, and now with her appointment, we cement the first female majority on our state's highest court in state history. We know Judge Gooch is the right woman for the job," Parson said.Gooch will take Judge Patricia Breckenridge's place on the bench, who retired on October 13 after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70 for the court.
