ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Certified child passenger safety technicians are offering free car seat checks on October 19 in Latham and October 21 in Hudson. Those needing a car seat check but can't attend the free events can make an appointment at a local fitting station. BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Ballston Spa man who reportedly attacked Bernard Rodgers with a baseball bat in March 2022 is facing new charges. Pharrin Michael Greene, 46, was arraigned on a second indictment on charges including first-degree manslaughter. Get the latest news, weather, sports and entertainment delivered right to your inbox! Greene is accused of striking Bernard Rodgers in the side of the head with an aluminum bat. During the altercation, Rodgers suffered a laceration to his liver. Rodgers was initially treated at the Albany Medical Center. A wildfire has erupted in rural Riverside County, scorching several acres east of Temecula.According to Cal Fire, the fire started shortly before 1:30 p.m. Monday afternoon in the 46000 block of Stanley Road north of Aguanga. “[The fire] is burning in medium fuels with a moderate rate of spread,” Cal Fire said on social media. More than 150 Rite Aid locations are expected to close after the Rite Aid Corporation filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection earlier this week.As part of the process, Rite Aid expected to close underperforming stores. 17-Year-Old Boy Pronounced Dead after Two-Vehicle Collision near Mile Post 93SKAGIT COUNTY, WA (October 17, 2023) – Monday afternoon, a fatal two-vehicle collision occurred on State Route 20, resulting in the death of James Janda.The incident prompted a swift response from law enforcement, with police arriving at the accident scene at approximately 3:15 p.m.The collision took place on the westbound lanes of the freeway, near Mile Post 93, on the 9th of October.
