Audis being targeted for break-ins in South Bay neighborhood

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) – Multiple Audis have been broken into in one South Bay neighborhood over the past few months. One of them was stolen off the owner’s driveway.KRON4 spoke to a car owner in the Hamin Park neighborhood which borders Campbell and San Jose. He says thieves have broken into his Audi three times and says they’re looking for a certain model of Audi for an easy steal.“It’s a violation, you wake up the next morning and your car is busted in,” said a man who did not want to be named. (KRON) – The Alameda County District Attorney announced today that she will be adding additional charges to a 2021 attempted murder case. The man is already in jail accused of trying to run over a person with his car. Now, the DA is saying her office has evidence that it was a hate crime.Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price says the victim is still severely injured but lucky to be alive after he was run over by a car six times. PITTSBURG, Calif. (KRON) -- A pedestrian was killed in a crash outside of Black Diamond High School on Tuesday, the Pittsburg Police Department confirmed.PPD officers were dispatched to Stoneman Avenue near Meadowbrook Circle and Loveridge Road for a crash. The crash scene was just outside the high school, and officers found the victim dead. SANTA ROSA, Calif. (KRON) – A school community is confronting a crisis nearly one week after a stabbing at a Santa Rosa high school. Jayden Pienta, 16, died after he was stabbed inside an art classroom at Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa. His family, along with other parents and students, say the campus needs more security. In response, the school district held a public forum Tuesday night. SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KRON) -- An elderly woman in South San Francisco was scammed out of $22,000, according to the city's police department. The victim was targeted via phone call from someone claiming to be involved in a hit-and-run crash with the victim's son. The caller told the victim that a woman suffered a miscarriage as a result of the crash and the son owed them money, SSFPD said. The victim offered money and two men showed up at her home twice to collect it. FAIRFIELD, Calif. (KRON) -- The burned remains of a missing woman suspected to have been murdered by her husband have been found in Fresno County, according to the Fairfield Police Department. Oakland Diocese employee arrested on child porn charges Police say the remains were found in a rural, unincorporated area of Fresno County by the FPD and Fresno County Sheriff's Office. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- San Francisco is pondering an end date for the city's "COVID-19 State of Emergency," and the move would terminate existing bans on home eviction for COVID-related hardship.San Francisco Supervisor Dean Preston introduced legislation Tuesday for a 60-day extension that would allow for a "wind-down period" protecting renters from losing their homes overnight. Their union has been working without a contract for more than four months.
