Metro East music teacher charged with sexual abuse of minors

MASCOUTAH, Ill. - A music instructor in the Metro East is behind bars and accused of sexual misconduct involving minors. Prosecutors have charged Reid Setterlund, 46, with two aggravated criminal sexual assault (with a victim under 18) and indecent solicitation stemming from aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The Mascoutah Police Department investigated several complaints of sexual misconduct tied to Setterlund. Police say he is accused of crimes involving two girls under the age of 18 last February. The crimes reportedly happened at his home. Setterlund is jailed in St. Clair County Jail on an $85,000 bond. A plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, his son, several medical practices and a billing company have agreed to pay $23.9 million to resolve allegations that they submitted false claims to both Medicare and Medicaid. The settlement resolves allegations that Dr. Joel Aronowitz, his medical corporation and his son Daniel Aronowitz falsified the place of service for skin grafts and billed multiple times for single-use skin substitute products. Tower Multi-Specialty Medical Group, Tower Wound Care Center of Santa Monica, Inc., Tower Outpatient Surgery Center, Inc. and Tower Medical Billing Solutions were all also named as entities that falsified the place of service and fraudulent billing. DUBLIN — A Santa Rita Jail inmate died Thursday hours after being found sick in his cell, authorities said.The 26-year-old died in the jail’s medical outpatient housing unit about 4:05 p.m., some 40 minutes after a deputy found him unresponsive in his cell bed, according to a statement from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office.Medical personnel took him to the unit after observing him drinking water profusely and vomiting in his cell about 10:35 a.m.Authorities did not identify the man Friday, pending notification of his next of kin. They said his relatives are believed to be in Mexico.Livermore police booked the man into the jail on March 28 about 3:10 p.m., but authorities did not say immediately why they arrested him. Antioch’s celebrated Red Caboose, for nearly four decades the home to a restaurant, has found a new life at the Antioch Historical Society Museum where an exhibit honoring the city’s long train history is being assembled.The popular restaurant on Fulton Shipyard Road in north Antioch was destroyed by fire in March of last year, but the caboose attached to the main building remained intact. Unable to rebuild because of asbestos in the main structure, the Jim and Phyllis Boccio family sold the structures to the nearby Drill Tech Drilling and Shoring, which in turn agreed to donate the caboose to the museum.And, on April 14, Drill Tech made good on its promise, hauling the caboose’s “truck” – the wheels and carriage – on a flatbed to the museum for placement on the tracks the museum had secured and installed, and later undergoing the arduous task of hauling the heavy caboose down Highway 4 to the museum nearly three miles to the west.
