A long-simmering dispute over the St. Paul firefighters’ contract has been resolved by an arbitrator, who recently decided they should receive 11 percent raises during a three-year contract.The city proposed wage increases of 9.5 percent during the term of the contract, while the International Association of Fire Fighters Local 21 sought pay raises of 15 percent.The firefighters’ contract expired Dec. 31 and they’ve continued working under its terms. The City Council is scheduled to take up the new contract Wednesday and vote on it Dec. 13, which are routine steps.Local 21 made its frustrations public in August, when they held an informational picket to bring attention to their labor contract being unsettled for more than 200 days at that point. ILION, N.Y. (WUTR) — Remington Arms, the oldest gunmaker in America, has announced that they will close their doors in March 2024.
