Oroville man charged with making trips to Oakland to obtain rainbow fentanyl to re-sell SACRAMENTO — An Oroville man is facing federal charges after he allegedly admitted to federal agents that he was buying drugs in Oakland to re-distribute in his area, court records show.Joseph Alan Childers, 37, was charged in late March with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, a federal offense. Earlier this month a federal magistrate signed off on a prosecution request to keep him in jail while the charges are pending, court records show.Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent Brian Nehring wrote in the criminal complaint that he “received information” in late 2022 that Childers was obtaining fentanyl from a Bay Area source and selling it in Butte County. SFPD officer injured in motorcycle crash with fellow officer SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- One San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) officer was injured after a collision with another department motorcycle Saturday. It happened on 3rd and Stillman Street around 3:20 p.m.The officer fell off his motorcycle and suffered unknown injuries. He was lying on the ground for about 30 minutes as other officers were tending to him. It is unknown at this time if the officer in the other involved motorcycle was injured. Video from the scene can be viewed in the player above. Photos taken from the incident can be viewed below. One dead after residential fire in SF’s Ingleside neighborhood As of 4 p.m., the scene was cleared, and the streets were no longer blocked due to the incident. (AP) — A portion of a press box floor collapsed at a middle school softball tournament in West Virginia on Saturday, injuring nine people, school officials said.Five people were inside the press box at Wayne County High School when the floor gave way while several other people were beneath it, the county school district said in a statement. Six students and three adults were taken to a hospital. 2 Californians arrested for conspiring to sell fentanyl in DC D.C. police and federal law enforcement have announced the arrest of two more members of a fentanyl distribution conspiracy charged with bringing thousands of fake pain pills containing fentanyl from California to the District.Max Alexander Carias Torres, 25, and Raymond Nava, Jr., 19, both of Los Angeles, California, were arrested in Los Angeles on Wednesday. They were charged with conspiracy to distribute 400 grams or more of a mixture containing fentanyl and are being detained while their trial is pending.Torres was separately charged with conspiring to commit international money laundering with proceeds from the alleged drug trafficking. Law enforcement also found about half a kilogram of suspected methamphetamine, numerous fake blue Oxycodone pills, and drug ledgers in Torres’ residence during his arrest.Three other members of the fentanyl distribution conspiracy were arrested earlier this year. (Courtesy of Prince William County Department of Fire and Rescue)Two townhouses in Woodbridge, Virginia, were damaged before firefighters put out a destructive fire early Saturday morning, according to Prince William County Fire and Rescue.Firefighting crews responded to multiple calls reporting a townhouse on fire in the 3200 block of Birchdale Square at around 4 a.m. Saturday.The Fire Marshal said in a statement to WTOP that the fire was spreading from one townhouse to an adjoining home when crews arrived. The office determined that the fire started in an electrical outlet in an upstairs bedroom.Both homes were damaged, with the structure that first caught fire sustaining extensive damage and the second home being moderately damaged, according to officials.
