Senate GOP pops Feinstein Judiciary replacement balloon

Published Mon, 24 Feb 2025 03:10:23 GMT

Republicans on Monday put up a blockade against the Democratic push to temporarily replace Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) on the Senate Judiciary Committee, saying there is no chance they’ll take a step that will effectively allow President Joe Biden’s most partisan judicial nominations to advance.GOP senators of all stripes lined up in opposition Monday as they returned to the Capitol from a two-week recess partially headlined by questions about when Feinstein would be back. The six-term senator has been absent since late February due to a case of shingles, leaving the Judiciary panel deadlocked 10-10 and unable to pass partisan nominees along for floor votes.“I, for one, am not going to help President Biden’s most unqualified nominees to get confirmed. I don’t think you’ll see us help in that effort,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), a senior member of the panel and a key ally of Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).At least five Republicans on the Judiciary Committee ...

Kurtenbach: Draymond Green deserved his ejection, but a Game 3 suspension would be overkill

Published Mon, 24 Feb 2025 03:10:23 GMT

Draymond Green is adamant that there was nowhere else for his foot to go.To hear him detail the situation, Green had to stomp on Domantas Sabonis’ chest after the Kings’ center gave the Warrior’s legs a bear hug.I don’t know about that, but I do know that it would be overkill if the league suspended Green for Thursday’s Game 3 for that incident. What Sabonis did was dirty. You can’t go full Jeff Van Gundy and wrap yourself around your opponent’s legs.Related ArticlesGolden State Warriors | Warriors embracing ‘new challenge’ as they head home down 2-0 in series vs. Kings Golden State Warriors | The Warriors’ dynasty is on life support Golden State Warriors | Warriors drop physical Game 2 to Kings as Fox takes over late following Green ejection Golden State Warriors | Andrew Wiggins to return to starting lineup in Game 2 Golden State Warriors | Warriors...

Draymond’s (mis)deeds: Controversial Warriors star’s top 5 playoff transgressions

Published Mon, 24 Feb 2025 03:10:23 GMT

Draymond Green is a perpetual line-stepper.His teammates and Dub Nation often love him for it.His opponents and their fans absolutely despise him for it.Oftentimes, his antics provoke opposing players into outsize reactions or poor play, but on Monday night in Sacramento, he was the one reacting — and he paid the price. After falling down on a fourth-quarter box-out, Kings center Domantas Sabonis saw Green’s planted foot, which was near his chest, and latched onto it. Green raised the foot Sabonis was clutching and stomped on his chest. Sabonis received a technical foul and Green was ejected with a Flagrant 2 foul. Both players defended their actions postgame after the Warriors lost. The incident harkened back to Green’s other playoff scuffles, which have been a hallmark of his career.Below are just a few instances of the Warriors star creating chaos in the postseason.Nut Punch — 2016 NBA FinalsThe most infamous moment in Green’s since-patched-up relation...
